Tomodachi Life secured the top spot in Japan's video game sales for the week of April 20-26, according to data from Famitsu. The Nintendo title sold 178,533 units, bringing its lifetime sales in the region to 743,938 copies.
Following closely behind, Pokémon Pokopia took the second position with 17,039 units sold this week, pushing its total sales past 927,000. New entries into the charts included Capcom's Pragmata, which appeared on both PS5 and Switch, and Idea Factory's Matsurika no Kei -kEi- Tenmei Kashoku-den, both charting within the top 10.
Long-standing titles continued to perform well. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe added 5,537 units to its impressive total of 2,906,379. Similarly, Minecraft sold 3,378 units, bringing its cumulative sales to over 4.1 million. Animal Crossing: New Horizons also saw continued sales, with one version selling 3,695 units and another adding 2,843 this week.
Other notable titles appearing in the rankings include Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A, indicating sustained interest in Nintendo's first-party offerings and popular franchises.
