Mitsubachi Miyuki has announced that their boys-love manga It's Strictly Business (Eigyō Desu kara) is set to receive a live-action television adaptation. The creator shared the update on social media, marking a new milestone for the series.
The story centers on Kiyo, a college student desperate for female attention who decides to stage a fake romance with his attractive clubmate, Issei, to boost his appeal. The plan quickly spirals out of control when Issei begins to blur the lines between their performative act and genuine affection.
Miyuki first launched the series in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine in 2021. While the manga has been a staple in the magazine, international readers can look forward to the English debut of the first volume from Yen Press, scheduled for release on September 22.
This project follows Miyuki’s established track record of successful titles, including the long-running series Cheeky Brat (Namaiki Zakari.), which concluded in 2021. With other works like Stray Cat & Wolf and Spring Storm and Monster also receiving English distribution, the live-action announcement brings further attention to Miyuki’s diverse catalog of character-driven narratives.
