Shōjōhime (Monkey Princess), the latest work from artist ippatu, is shifting its primary publication platform. Starting August 2, the series will move to Kodansha's YanMaga Web, where it will continue its run alongside the launch of a brand-new story arc.
Since its debut in December 2025, the manga has been serialized concurrently in Young Magazine and on the YanMaga Web portal. This upcoming move consolidates the series' digital presence as it pivots into its next phase. Kodansha has maintained a steady release schedule for the print editions, having published the second compiled volume on July 6 following the series' April launch.
Ippatu, who gained significant industry recognition for the post-apocalyptic Tsugumi Project, brings a distinct visual style to this creative retelling of the Chinese classic Journey to the West. With Tsugumi Project recently concluding its seven-volume run and currently slated for a television anime adaptation, all eyes are on how the author evolves the narrative scope of Shōjōhime in its new home.
