A unique piece of Inuyasha memorabilia recently hit the auction block, with manga creator Rumiko Takahashi providing an autographed illustration of the series' titular character. The sketch sold for 1,833,000 yen—approximately US$11,440—with all proceeds going to PLAS, a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting children in Africa orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. In a statement released through the organization, Takahashi expressed her hope that the contribution would provide meaningful aid to those in need.

This sale marks a continued partnership between the legendary creator and the NGO. Takahashi previously contributed to a series of PLAS charity auctions held between March and September 2023, where a different autographed Inuyasha illustration raised 1,001,000 yen. The recurring support highlights a long-standing commitment to the organization's mission.

The original Inuyasha manga ran in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1996 to 2008, eventually spawning a massive franchise that includes the original anime run, the follow-up series Inuyasha: The Final Act, and the more recent spin-off, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. While the original series concluded years ago, the franchise remains a staple of the medium, with the Yashahime manga adaptation by Takashi Shiina only recently concluding its run in June 2025.
