The upcoming anime adaptation of Katsuwo's #I'm Looking For Zombie is locked in for an October 3 debut. A new promotional video released this week highlights the series' blend of survival tension and youth-focused comedy, while also previewing the opening theme "Raki Raki" by Surii and the ending track "Soft Apocalypse" from the band cadode.

Five additional cast members have joined the production. Yōko Hikasa takes on the role of Mikazuki, a traveler from the outside world, and Makoto Koichi voices the mechanic Tōka. The Ueno Base leadership is filled out by Tomoyo Takayanagi as the sharp-tongued commander Takamo and Aino Shimada as her brother, Saigo. Kōsuke Toriumi rounds out the new additions as Aki's father, whose mysterious disappearance serves as the primary catalyst for the protagonists' journey.

Studio Comet has finalized its core production team, bringing on art director Masatoshi Muto, 3DCG director Junya Sato, and sound director Yayoi Tateishi to support director Shin'ya Une. The series will air across TV Asahi’s affiliated channels and BS Asahi, with digital availability confirmed for ABEMA and d Anime Store in Japan.

This project continues the trend of adapting Katsuwo's manga portfolio, following previous anime iterations of Mitsuboshi Colors and Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu. While the original manga concluded its three-volume run in early 2024, Yen Press has already secured the rights for a complete English omnibus release. Given the series' shift from the page to the screen, it remains to be seen how the anime will balance the manga's specific tone of societal collapse with its comedic character dynamics.
