The television anime adaptation of Hisamakumako's Ichijōma Mankitsu Gurashi! manga has officially revealed its main cast and premiere date. The series, which adapts the manga about a high schooler navigating life in a manga café dormitory, began airing in Japan on April 11.
Leading the cast is Hana Hishikawa as protagonist Meiko Morita. She is joined by Saho Shirasu as Rie Amamiya, Chiharu as Marika Suzuki, and Miyari Nemoto as Neo Nakano. Additional cast members include Momoka Terasawa as Michika Narumi, Kaori Maeda as Magical Momorin Gōda, Chiwa Saitō as Gao, Ran Koba as Belna, and Natsumi Murakami as Miori Morita.
Directed by Toshinori Watanabe (Tokyo Ghoul:re) at Studio PRA, the anime features character designs by Fumiya Uehara and music composition by MONACA. The story follows Meiko Morita, a transfer student who finds herself living in a cramped one-tatami room within a manga café that doubles as a dormitory, surrounded by eccentric residents.
The anime premiered in the "Animazing!!!" programming block on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and affiliated channels. International audiences can stream the series on Rakuten VIKI, OceanVeil, and ADN, with episodes appearing on the It's Anime YouTube channel a week after their initial broadcast. The opening theme is "Ciao Ciao" by Sophià la Mode, and the ending theme is "Yawayawa Nerd Chō FreQuency" by Mugendai Mewtype.
