ASMIK Ace has unveiled the third promotional video for the television anime adaptation of I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class. The newly released trailer showcases the song "Hi no Ataru Kotoba" by reGretGirl.

New additions to the voice cast include Rikuya Yasuda as Nozomu Seki, a classmate of Maki, Shinji Kawada as Maki's father Itsuki Maehara, and Yurina Amami as Itsuki's subordinate Kyoka Minato. These actors join the previously announced main cast: Haruki Ishiya as Maki Maehara and Manaka Iwami as Umi Asanagi.

The series, directed by Hideki Tachibana at CONNECT, premiered in Japan on April 7 and is currently streaming internationally on Crunchyroll. Keiichirō Ōchi is overseeing the scripts, with character designs by Shoko Takimoto. reGretGirl performs the opening theme "Submarine Youth," while Koresawa provides the ending theme "Zutto Ichiban ni Shite ne."

I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class adapts Takata's romantic comedy light novel series. It follows Maki Maehara, a high school student who struggles to connect with others. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Umi Asanagi, a popular classmate known as the "second prettiest girl in class." Despite their different social standings, they bond over shared interests in movies and manga, leading Asanagi to initiate a friendship with Maki.
