The television anime adaptation of Rokuro Uraji's I am the only one who is not attacked in the world filled with zombies. novel series has revealed its main cast and staff, alongside a teaser promotional video and visual. The anime, previously slated for a January premiere, has been delayed to January 2027, and will broadcast on the premium channel AT-X.
Wataru Katō is set to voice the protagonist Yūsuke Takemura, with Yuno Azuma playing Mitsuki Fujino. The production is helmed by director Kazuya Fujishiro, known for his work on series like Dropkick on My Devil! and Cells at Work! Code Black. He is directing at studios acca effe and Frontier Engine. Yasushi Hirano is handling series scripts, with Kayō Shimoyama and Makuto Okimiru co-writing. Character designs are by Megumi Ishihara, while Tadashi Jinbo is the sound director and ISAO is composing the music.
The story is described as a "zombie panic action" narrative set in a world overrun by zombies. The protagonist, Takemura, is inexplicably the only person the undead do not attack. While this unique ability could be used for survival in a typical zombie apocalypse, Takemura instead pursues his own desires.
Originally launched on the R18 version of the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2013, the novel series concluded in 2017 and was later published in three volumes. A manga adaptation by Chihiro Masuda began in June 2021, with its fifth volume due August 5. A spinoff manga, Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai Tokiko IF STORY, launched in October of last year and will also see its first volume released on August 5.
