The upcoming second season of The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World has expanded its roster, confirming five new supporting cast members alongside a main promotional video. The trailer offers a first listen to the opening theme song, "Diamond Dust," performed by singer-songwriter Mizuki Ueki, while Maaya Uchida is set to perform the ending theme, "COMPRESSION :[."
Production remains under the direction of Masahiro Takata at studio Zero-G, with Takata also overseeing series composition and sound direction. The new season is slated for an October 9 premiere, airing on TBS at 1:28 a.m. followed by a broadcast on BS11 later that evening.
The new additions to the cast include Souichirou Hoshi as Lucas Forst, Haruka Shiraishi as Lieselotte Eden, Ryouhei Kimura as Julius Orphe, Aoi Koga as Bianca Miller, and Konomi Kohara as Emma Clarke. These characters join the established ensemble as the series continues its adaptation of Nana Mikoshiba’s light novel.
While the first season maintained a steady presence on Crunchyroll, the series holds a modest reception across platforms, with recent snapshots showing an average score of 63/100 on AniList and a 64/100 rating on Kitsu. As the production moves into its second cour, it remains to be seen if the new cast additions will shift the narrative focus of the school-fantasy series, which originally debuted as a 12-episode run in Winter 2023.
