Hunter x Hunter Volume 39 is set to release on July 3, marking the first new collected volume of Yoshihiro Togashi's manga in 22 months. The upcoming volume will compile chapters 401 through 410, which were serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from issue 45 of 2024 to issue two of 2025.

Togashi has kept fans updated on his progress via X/Twitter, even revealing in December 2024 that he had completed storyboard layouts for two additional chapters following the serialization run. The manga's previous volume, Volume 38, was released in September 2024 and covered up to chapter 400. Viz Media released the English version of Volume 38 on January 6.

The series has faced intermittent hiatuses, notably one beginning in January 2023 due to Togashi's ongoing health issues. At the time, Shueisha confirmed that the manga would move away from a strict weekly serialization format, with details on its future serialization to be announced later.

Beyond the manga, the Hunter x Hunter franchise continues to expand with other media. The third stage play adaptation, Hunter x Hunter The Stage 3, recently concluded its run in Tokyo and Osaka after covering the Greed Island arc. Additionally, the mobile game Hunter x Hunter Nen x Survivor launched globally in February, and the fighting game Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact is slated for release on July 17 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
