The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump has confirmed that Hunter x Hunter is entering another hiatus. While the announcement did not provide a specific return date, it marks a pause for the series, which had resumed serialization in late June following the release of its 39th compiled volume in July.
Alongside the manga news, the franchise is expanding its live-action footprint with the announcement of Hunter x Hunter The Stage 4. This production will tackle the fan-favorite Chimera Ant Arc, split into two distinct parts. The first segment is slated for a January to February 2027 run, with the second following in July and August 2027. Performances will be held in both Tokyo and Kyoto.
This upcoming play follows the third installment, which covered the Greed Island Arc and concluded its run in June 2025. Beyond the stage, the franchise has maintained a presence through recent gaming releases, including the 2D fighter Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact and the mobile title Hunter x Hunter Nen x Survivor, both of which arrived in 2025. With the manga once again on break, the stage production serves as the primary upcoming narrative expansion for the series.
