Hotaru no Yomeiri (Firefly Wedding) is building momentum ahead of its October 9 premiere on Fuji TV’s noitaminA block. The production has introduced two heavy-hitting additions to its voice cast: Kent Itou, known for his work in Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii, will voice Kotaro Ogawa, while industry veteran Kenjirou Tsuda, famous for his role as Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen, steps into the role of Saegusa.
Alongside the casting news, a second teaser video has arrived, offering a glimpse at the series' atmospheric tone and providing a first listen to the ending theme, "Yumegokochi," performed by singer-songwriter TOOBOE. The track complements the visual direction established by director Takahiro Kamei, who previously worked on the 2022 Urusei Yatsura reboot.
The project is currently in production at David Production, with series composition managed by Yuuko Kakihara and character designs handled by Yukiko Aikyou. The anime adapts the historical romance manga by Oreco Tachibana, which has been serialized on MangaONE since early 2023 and is currently licensed in English by Viz Media.
