The production team for the Horror Collector (Kyōfu Collector) anime has announced three new additions to its voice cast just days before the series makes its television debut. Sae Hiratsuka will voice Momo, Ryōta Ōsaka joins as Raita, and Hana Hishikawa takes on the role of Sachiko Konno. These actors join a previously announced ensemble that includes Hiiro Ishibashi, Jun Fukuyama, Saori Hayami, and Nobuhiko Okamoto.

In addition to the main cast, the studio revealed a rotating list of guest stars for the series' opening episodes. Yōko Hikasa is set to appear as the Urban Legend Woman in the premiere, followed by Sumire Uesaka as Seira Takada in episode two, and Yūma Uchida as journalist Takaaki Saitō in the third episode. The anime is slated to begin its broadcast on NHK on October 10, with Crunchyroll confirmed to provide a simultaneous streaming release.

Directed by Yuki Inaba at Studio Palette, the project adapts the long-running novel series written by Midori Satō and supervised by Norio Tsuruta. The source material, which has spanned 29 volumes since its 2015 debut, follows a mysterious boy in a red hood who investigates paranormal occurrences. While the novels and a single-volume manga adaptation are currently available in English through Yen Press's "JY for Kids" imprint, the anime marks the first time the franchise's supernatural urban legends will be brought to the screen.
