The tactical battlefield of the Tiny Metal franchise is expanding into animation with the reveal of Tiny Metal: Zero Line. The project debuted with a pilot episode screening at Japan Expo 2026, showcasing a narrative centered on the discovery of "Lost Tech"—dormant, high-powered war machines left behind after a global conflict. The story follows Major Nathan Gries as he attempts to secure these dangerous relics alongside Lord General Isoroku Tsukumo and the White Fangs leader, Wolfram.
Production is being led by director Hiroyasu Kobayashi, recognized for his CGI work on the Rebuild of Evangelion films, with animation handled by SAFEHOUSE. The studio is familiar with the franchise, as they are also contributing cinematics for the upcoming Tiny Metal 2 game. Character designs for the anime are provided by Yūsuke Kozaki, who recently highlighted new character additions during a live drawing event at Japan Expo.
Complementing the anime project, the Tiny Metal 2 game sequel is now scheduled for a spring 2027 release on PC via Steam. This follow-up introduces naval combat mechanics, additional commanders, and a soundtrack composed by Gō Shiina. The franchise, founded by Hiroaki Yura, has been active since the 2017 release of the original Tiny Metal and its subsequent 2019 follow-up, Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble.
