The World Is Dancing, the historical anime adaptation focusing on the life of the legendary Noh playwright Zeami, is expanding its reach with a full English dub. HIDIVE announced the complete cast and production team for the project, which is scheduled to premiere on the platform this Wednesday.
Leading the cast as the protagonist Oniyasha is Melissa Molano, supported by Rex Rosario as Hifumi and Ty Mahany as Hosokawa. The production features a deep bench of talent, with additional roles filled by industry veterans including John Swasey and Emily Neves. Behind the scenes, the dub is helmed by director Kyle Colby Jones, working from scripts by Kalin Black, with audio mixing handled by Brent Marshall.
Set in 1374 during the turbulent Northern and Southern Courts period, the story tracks Oniyasha's journey from a young sarugaku performer to the visionary who would eventually redefine Noh theater. The series, which originally launched as a manga by Kazuto Mihara in 2021, brings a unique blend of historical drama and artistic exploration to the screen.
The anime previously premiered in Japan on July 2, following an early screening of its second episode at Anime Expo. While the series is also available on Amazon Prime Video, this new audio option provides a fresh way for viewers to experience the story of the boy who asked, "Why do people dance?"
