The September issue of LEED Publishing’s Comic Ran Twins magazine has confirmed that Hideki Mori’s historical series Queen of Bijah (Bijah no Joō) is nearing its finale. The manga, which has been a staple of the publication since 2021, will reach its conclusion in just three more chapters.

Set against the backdrop of the 1258 A.D. Mongol Empire expansion, the story follows the desperate defense of Bijah, a small city on the Persian plateau. Facing a massive force of 20,000 Mongol soldiers, the city’s survival rests on the shoulders of its princess and an enigmatic Indian Mohist. The series has balanced historical tension with character-driven stakes throughout its multi-year run.

LEED Publishing plans to release the 10th compiled volume of the series on October 13. Mori is perhaps best known to international readers for his collaboration with Kazuo Koike on New Lone Wolf and Cub, the sequel to the legendary samurai epic that was eventually brought to English-speaking markets by Dark Horse Comics.
