Kakao Entertainment has announced the debut of Crocodile, a new action noir webtoon series featuring the combined talents of writer MEEN and artist Kyoo-seok Choi. The series is scheduled to launch on the Kakao Page platform on September 5, marking the first time the two creators have collaborated on a project.

The narrative centers on In-hoo Jung, a man recently released from prison after a decade-long sentence for murder. Despite his desire for a peaceful existence, his life takes a complicated turn when the wife of the man he killed approaches him with a request to protect her son. Set against the backdrop of Busan, the story promises a gritty exploration of redemption and revenge.

This project brings together two notable figures in the webtoon industry. Kyoo-seok Choi is widely recognized for his work on the dark fantasy series Hellbound, which he co-created with director Sang-ho Yeon. Meanwhile, MEEN has established a strong reputation in the action noir genre through titles like Tong, Blood Rain, and the Dokgo series. Readers familiar with MEEN's previous work may also recognize titles like Crime Puzzle and Price of Violence, which are currently available on the Tapas platform.

With both creators known for their distinct, character-driven approaches to intense subject matter, the pairing suggests a significant shift in tone from Choi's previous supernatural collaborations. It remains to be seen how this partnership will influence the pacing and visual style of the new series compared to their individual past works.
