Crypton Future Media and Good Smile Company revealed Hatsune Miku Nendoroid Starry Party, a new 3D party game, at Anime Expo. The title is set to launch in 2027 for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. A trailer showcased the Nendoroid-style characters, including fan favorites Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, and Kaito, alongside Hatsune Miku herself, all participating in various party game activities. The preview also featured the song "StargazeR" by Kots Beirne.
In related news, Dwango announced a new EP featuring Hatsune Miku as the lead vocalist. This project, part of Dwango's "BEYOND BORDERs" initiative, will see Vocaloid producers collaborating with global music artists, including Grimes, slayr, Odetari, and George Clanton, for tracks aimed at Western audiences. The EP is scheduled for release this fall, with singles dropping throughout the summer.
The announcement comes as the Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! franchise continues its multimedia expansion. The anime film COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can't Sing opened in Japan earlier this year, performing strongly at the box office. GKIDS handled North American distribution, bringing the film to theaters and later digital platforms and home video.
Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku, the smartphone game that spawned the anime film, first launched in Japan in 2020 and received a global release in December 2021. The franchise also includes a mini-anime adaptation called Petit Seka.
