The September issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine has confirmed that Ōe (Great Corruption), the latest project from Hashihime of the Old Book Town developer ADELTA, is being adapted into a manga. Titled Ōe: Ariake-hen (Great Corruption: The Dawn Arc), the series will be illustrated by Medamayaki and is set to begin serialization in the magazine's upcoming October issue.
Ōe centers on a detective sent on a high-stakes undercover mission to an island funeral for a famous actress. The plot thickens when the boat meant to retrieve him fails to show up, trapping the protagonist among a group of attendees harboring dark, interconnected secrets. The original game saw a staggered rollout, with the first part launching in October 2024 for PC and browser platforms, followed by a complete edition in April 2025.
This adaptation expands the footprint of ADELTA, a studio that built a dedicated following through its atmospheric visual novel Hashihime of the Old Book Town. That title remains a touchstone for the developer, having seen releases on PC, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch, with an English localization by MangaGamer in 2019. The move to a serialized manga format for Ōe suggests the studio is leaning further into the suspense-heavy, character-driven storytelling that defined their previous work.
