Manga artist Nyoijizai, best known for the beach volleyball series Harukana Receive, has launched a new project titled Shinkon Dakedo Captain no Kanojo to wa Mada Yarenai (I'm newly married, but I still can't have sex with the captain's girlfriend). The series premiered last Saturday on Kadokawa’s digital magazine, Dra Dra Sharp#.

The story follows the domestic life of a newlywed couple, Yūto and Asuka. While Asuka is widely recognized as the "Ice Empress" for her stoic and elite performance as a professional volleyball captain, her personality shifts drastically behind closed doors. To ensure her focus remains entirely on her team's momentum, the couple has entered an agreement to abstain from intimacy until her current tournament concludes, creating a comedic tension that drives Asuka’s motivation on the court.

This new launch follows a prolific period for the author, who recently concluded the sports-focused Cinderella Athletes earlier this year. Nyoijizai’s previous work, Harukana Receive, remains their most globally recognized title, having been adapted into a 12-episode anime series by studio C2C in 2018. That series, which holds a dedicated fanbase for its portrayal of beach volleyball dynamics, is currently available for streaming via platforms like Crunchyroll.

With this latest addition to their portfolio, Nyoijizai continues to blend athletic settings with character-driven narratives. The author's recent bibliography also includes short-run titles such as Silver Pole Flowers, Succubus-ka no Majime na Pure-san, and RePAIR: Kono Sekai wa Jizoku Kanōdesu ka?, all of which concluded within the last few years.
