The official website for the Haru to Gen 70-sai, Hajimete Kosodate short-format anime has confirmed a January 4 premiere, airing on the TV Kanagawa (tvk) channel at 9:55 p.m. The series adapts the manga by Yuka Ōshima, which first appeared on Kadokawa's TATESC Comic label in December 2022.
The anime follows the story of Gen, a 70-year-old man who, following the death of his daughter, takes on the responsibility of raising his three-year-old granddaughter, Haru. The production features Bin Shimada as Gen, Hiromi Igarashi as Haru, and Mayuko Kazama as Sakura.
Kōdai Satō is directing the series at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio, working in collaboration with Studio Nanahoshi. The production team includes sound director Taeko Miura, sound effects artist Maki Takuma, and composer bermei.inazawa, with Kazuya Takahashi serving as executive producer.
