The official website for the Grand Blue Dreaming anime has released a third promotional video, confirming the series' return on July 6. The new video showcases the ending theme song "Hadaka no Mermaid" performed by the group MAMESHiBA NO TAiGUN, with comedian Kuro-chan producing. The opening theme, "Natsuko" by FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY'S, is also featured.
Fans can catch the new season starting July 6 at 24:00 JST on Tokyo MX and BS11, followed by MBS on July 7 and AT-X on July 9. The latest season introduces M.A.O as Karina, Sayaka ÅŒhara as Sayaka Kotegawa, Asami Seto as Chief, and Aya Suzaki as Maki. Notably, this season will move the setting outside of Japan for the first time, taking place in Palau.
The announcement follows the conclusion of the second season in September 2025, which itself had been preceded by an online leak of the full season, including hints of a third installment. The Grand Blue Dreaming manga, penned by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka, began serialization in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014. Kodansha USA publishes the manga digitally in English.
This comedy series, known for its diving antics and college shenanigans, previously received an anime adaptation that premiered in July 2018, with Amazon Prime Video streaming it internationally. A live-action film adaptation also opened in Japan in August 2020. The series is adapted from a manga source and falls into the Comedy, Gag Humor, and Seinen genres.
