Kadokawa has unveiled the third promotional video for its original anime Goodbye, Lara (Sayonara Lara). The newly released trailer showcases Hana Hope's ending theme song, titled "Hearts Glow."
Alongside the new video, the production team shared an updated main visual and announced additional cast members. Minami Tsuda will voice Risa, Lara's fourth older sister, and Kazutomi Yamamoto will play KΕta, Risa's constant companion.
Goodbye, Lara is set to premiere on July 5 at 24:30 (effectively July 6 at 12:30 a.m.) on Tokyo MX, followed by broadcasts on BS Asahi and YTV. The anime will also begin airing on AT-X on July 6. Crunchyroll is confirmed to stream the series as it airs. The story draws inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid," following a mermaid reborn in modern-day Japan after making a forbidden wish to be loved by a human. The anime is set in Lake Biwa, located in Shiga prefecture.
The main cast includes Hana Hishikawa as Lara, Nana Kawaishi as Mari Otsu, Rica Fukami as Grace, Ayumu Murase as Luca, Tomohiro Εno as Yoshihiro Otsu, Mitsuaki Madono as Makoto Otsu, Nanae Sumitomo as Ema Otsu, and Masaki Terasoma as Rowan. Ikimono-gakari will perform the opening theme song, "Sayonara Lara." The series is directed by Takushi Koide at Kinema Citrus, with Anna Kawahara handling series scripts.
