TOHO has released the final trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, the follow-up to the Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One. Director Takashi Yamazaki returns to helm the project, which moves the timeline to 1949, two years after the events of the previous film. The new footage confirms the return of core cast members Ryūnosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, and Hidetaka Yoshioka, while introducing Min Tanaka as the biologist Kanji Murakami.
The production maintains continuity behind the camera as well, with Yamazaki serving as director, screenwriter, and VFX supervisor, supported by composer Naoki Satō. The film is currently in production at TOHO Studios, with Shirogumi Inc. overseeing the visual effects. The project represents a technical milestone for the franchise as the first Japanese film to be certified as 'Filmed for IMAX.'
A coordinated global release strategy will see the film debut in Japan on November 3, coinciding with the franchise's traditional 'Godzilla Day,' followed by a North American premiere on November 6. This marks the first time a Japanese-produced Godzilla film has reached both markets within the same week. Additional international release dates for Latin America, Europe, and Oceania are expected to follow.
For viewers looking to revisit the series, Godzilla Minus One and its black-and-white counterpart, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color, are currently available on Netflix worldwide. In North America, the title is also available for digital rental and purchase across major platforms, while Japanese audiences can stream the film exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
