The television anime adaptation of Syundei's boys-love manga, Go for It, Nakamura!, has announced Shōya Chiba as the latest addition to its voice cast. Chiba will portray Arandō Tamura, a director and screenwriter for Hoshimi High School's drama and film club. This new character is slated to make his first appearance in the anime's seventh episode, scheduled to air this Wednesday.
The series premiered on April 1st, with episodes airing on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11. Early access to new episodes is available on Hulu in Japan, debuting a week before their television broadcast. International viewers can stream the anime on Crunchyroll across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS, with an English dub also available.
Directed by Aoi Umeki, who also co-writes scripts and designs characters, Go for It, Nakamura! is animated by Drive. The story follows the shy Okuto Nakamura, who develops an immediate crush on his classmate Aiki Hirose. However, Nakamura's own klutziness and social anxieties present significant hurdles to forming a connection. The manga, originally published as a short in 2014, began its serialization in 2015, with a sequel, Go for It Again, Nakamura!, launching in 2017. The series holds a 7.8 rating on MyAnimeList from over 22,000 voters.
