The television anime adaptation of Syundei's Go for It, Nakamura! manga has added Yō Taichi to its voice cast. Taichi will portray Reiko Aokiyama, a third-year student and the president of the Occult Horror Club. This new character is slated to make their first appearance in the anime's fourth episode, scheduled to air on Wednesday.
The romantic comedy series follows the shy Okuto Nakamura, who falls for his classmate Hirose. However, Nakamura's clumsy nature and lack of prior interaction present challenges to his pursuit of connection. The anime stars Chiaki Kobayashi as Okuto Nakamura and Yuki Sakakihara as Aiki Hirose, with Takuya Eguchi, Fairouz Ai, and Yukihiro Nozuyama also in the cast.
Directed by Aoi Umeki, who also co-writes scripts and designs characters, Go for It, Nakamura! is animated by Studio Drive. The series premiered on April 1st, with new episodes debuting a week early on Hulu in Japan before their television broadcast. Crunchyroll is handling international streaming in North America, Europe, and other regions, offering an English dub.
Syundei's original manga began as a short in 2014 before launching new chapters in 2015, with a compiled volume released in 2017. A sequel, Go for It Again, Nakamura!, was published starting in 2017. The series holds a 7.8 rating on MyAnimeList.
