Shunsuke Takeuchi has been added to the cast of the Go for It, Nakamura! television anime, Aniplex announced Monday. Takeuchi will voice Kaoru Niō, a physical education teacher at Hoshimi High School, with the character set to make his debut in the anime's third episode airing this Wednesday.
Directed by Aoi Umeki, who also handles scripts and character designs, the anime adapts Syundei's boys-love manga. Drive is producing the animation, with Naoki Yoshibe serving as assistant director and Yasuko Aoki overseeing the series scripts. The music is composed by Ayana Tsujita.
Go for It, Nakamura! follows Nakamura, a shy student who develops an instant crush on his classmate Hirose. The romantic comedy centers on Nakamura's clumsy attempts to connect with his dream boy. Seven Seas has licensed the manga in English.
The anime premiered on April 1 in Japan and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll in North America and other international territories, offering an English dub. New episodes debut on Hulu in Japan one week before their television broadcast.
