The television anime adaptation of Syundei's boys-love manga, Go for It, Nakamura! (also known as Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!), has added Kenshō Ono and Kenta Miyake to its voice cast. Ono will voice Kō Matsumura, a classmate of Hirose from junior high, while Miyake will portray Nobu Todoroki, an old friend of Hirose. These characters made their first appearance in the anime's eighth episode, which aired last week.
The romantic comedy manga, licensed in English by Seven Seas, follows the shy and clumsy Nakamura, who falls in love at first sight with his classmate Hirose, despite having never spoken to him.
The anime is directed by Aoi Umeki, who also co-writes scripts and designs characters. Drive is handling animation, with Naoki Yoshibe serving as assistant director and Yasuko Aoki overseeing the scripts. The series premiered on April 1st on Tokyo MX and other channels, with new episodes debuting early on Hulu in Japan. Crunchyroll is streaming the series internationally, including an English dub.
Syundei's original manga began as a short in 2014 before launching as a series in 2015, with a compiled volume released in May 2017. A sequel, Go for It Again, Nakamura!, launched in 2017 and has also been published by Seven Seas.
