The upcoming anime adaptation of Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent (Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun) has cleared its first major hurdle, with a new teaser video confirming a 2027 television broadcast window. The production is being helmed by director Makoto Hoshino, who is collaborating with studios Studio Flad and Wao World. The core creative team features a reunion of talent from projects like Banished from the Hero's Party and The Little Lies We All Tell, with Megumi Shimizu handling series composition and Ruriko Watanabe providing character designs.
Originally serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine starting in 2021, the story follows Momose, a student desperate for a quiet high school experience who finds her peace disrupted by Ichikura. While he appears to be a mild-mannered student, he hides a volatile history as a middle school delinquent. The series explores their complicated dynamic as Ichikura attempts to reform his image while struggling to suppress his aggressive instincts.
