The upcoming television anime adaptation of Q Nikumura’s action-comedy manga Giant Ojousama has confirmed its primary cast and key production staff. The announcement, accompanied by a new teaser promotional video, sets a premiere window for January 2027. Yuu Serizawa is set to voice the titular character, Oriko Fujidou, while Junya Enoki will provide the voice for Dr. Sebastian.
Production is currently underway at Tatsunoko Production, with Hiroshi Ikehata attached as director. The creative team also includes series composer Yuu Satou and character designer Hajime Mitsuda. The technical roster features a variety of industry veterans, including art director Akira Itou of Studio ARA and sound director Takumi Itou, with music production handled by the team at Dream Monster.
Originally debuting as a short-form entry on the Jump Rookie! platform in 2020, the series found its footing when it moved to serialization in Sunday Webry in July 2021. With 12 volumes currently published by Shogakukan, the project is now moving into its next phase of development.
Why it matters: The involvement of Tatsunoko Production and a seasoned staff suggests a high production priority for this adaptation, though the long lead time until 2027 leaves plenty of room for further announcements regarding additional cast members or specific streaming platforms.
