The television anime adaptation of Q Nikumura's Giant Ojousama has entered production, with a scheduled debut for January 2027. The project's newly launched website unveiled the primary staff lineup, placing the action-comedy series in the hands of Tatsunoko Production.
Hiroshi Ikehata, fresh off his work on Witch Watch, will direct the series. He is supported by assistant director Katsuya Ooshima, while Hajime Mitsuda serves as both character designer and chief animation director. The screenplay and series composition are being handled by Yuu Satou, who previously worked on Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san.
Originally debuting as a one-shot entry for the Shounen Jump+ 'Jump Rookie!' competition in 2020, the series quickly found an audience, winning a Bronze Rookie Award. It transitioned into a full-scale serialization on Sunday Webry in July 2021. With 11 volumes currently available and a 12th volume arriving this August, the anime adaptation arrives as the manga continues to expand its footprint in the action-comedy genre.
