The upcoming television anime adaptation of Giant Ojo-sama has officially entered production, with a new teaser trailer confirming a January 2027 premiere window. The footage introduces the series' central premise: the chaotic life of Oriko Fujido, a wealthy heiress who gains the ability to grow to massive proportions to defend her town from invaders, often causing more destruction than the threats she faces.
Leading the production is director Hiroshi Ikehata, known for his work on WITCH WATCH, with animation duties handled by Tatsunoko Production. The creative team also features Hajime Mitsuda as character designer and chief animation director, alongside Yū Satō, who is managing series composition and scripts. The musical score is being composed by the trio of Yūsuke Shirato, Kijibato, and Aira.
The voice cast features Yū Serizawa in the lead role of Oriko Fujido, with Junya Enoki providing the voice for her butler, Dr. Sebastian. The project adapts the ongoing manga by Nikumura Q, which has been a staple of Shogakukan's Sunday Webry service since 2020 and reached its 12th volume this past August.
While this marks the series' first foray into animation, the source material has already garnered significant attention, including a nomination at the eighth Next Manga Awards and a top-five placement in AnimeJapan's 2023 'Most Wanted Anime Adaptation' poll. With a veteran director at the helm, it will be interesting to see how the studio balances the manga's slapstick scale with the technical demands of its giant-sized protagonist.
