The battle royale phenomenon Garena Free Fire is making the jump to television with the newly titled Free Fire Daybreak, which is slated to premiere in spring 2027. Alongside the title announcement, the production team shared a fresh visual, confirming that the series will receive a worldwide broadcast and streaming rollout.
Ken Takahashi, known for his work on Ragna Crimson and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, is set to direct the project. The animation production is being handled by studio Candy Box, whose portfolio includes Blue Archive The Animation and Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!. The musical score will be composed by Sus4 Inc., reuniting them with Takahashi following their collaboration on Ragna Crimson.
This adaptation is a joint venture between game developer Garena and Kadokawa, with Kadokawa Qingyu serving as the production manager. Given the game's massive global footprint—having held the title of the world's most downloaded mobile game for three consecutive years between 2019 and 2021—the project aims to translate the high-stakes, last-person-standing tension of the mobile shooter into an episodic format.
