The high-stakes world of foreign exchange trading is coming to the screen this October with the television anime adaptation of FX Fighter Kurumi-chan. Kadokawa confirmed the fall debut alongside a new promotional video and visual, offering a glimpse at the volatile market journey of college student Kurumi Fukuga.
Leading the cast is Aina Suzuki, who will voice the protagonist Kurumi and also perform the ending theme song, titled "$・¥・€." The production has also expanded its supporting cast, adding Asami Seto as Mochiko Kogane, Ayasa Itō as Mebuki Yamashi, and Miho Okasaki as Yasuko Takane.
Studio Passione is spearheading the project, with Yūki Ogawa—known for his work on Mieruko-chan—directing the series. The staff lineup features Kenta Ihara on series composition, character designs by Kazuyuki Ueda, and a score composed by Takurō Iga.
Based on the seinen manga by Demunyan and Daisuki Tansan, the story follows Kurumi’s desperate attempt to recoup the 20 million yen her mother lost in the FX market. While the series is framed as a "cute" story, it leans heavily into psychological tension, using the high-pressure environment of currency trading to explore the thin line between financial success and ruin. As one of the more unique entries in the seinen genre, the adaptation aims to capture the intensity of market fluctuations that have defined the manga since its 2021 debut.
