FuRyu has released the opening movie for its upcoming title CRYMELIGHT, providing a first look at the game's aesthetic and confirming the theme song, "Love and Guilt," performed by Hitomi Sekine in character as Mary. The footage highlights the game's dark, atmospheric tone as it prepares for its November 5 release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

As the latest entry in the publisher's "dark bishōjo action" franchise, CRYMELIGHT follows the narrative lineage of 2019's CRYSTAR and 2023's CRYMACHINA. The story centers on a protagonist named Alice, who must navigate the depths of Purgatory to reclaim her memories and earn a "Rebirth." Gameplay involves traversing between the prison-like realm of Wonderland and the sanctuary of The Tea Party, where players confront enemies born from madness.

Development sees the return of several key creative voices from the previous installments. Naoki Hisaya returns as the plot and story supervisor, joined by composer Sakuzyo and animator RIRI Yamashita, with character designs provided by YOGISYA. The game will be available in a standard version alongside a deluxe edition that bundles six DLC items, a digital artbook, and a soundtrack containing 11 tracks and three voice drama segments.

Why it matters: The return of core staff members like Hisaya and Sakuzyo suggests a deliberate effort to maintain the thematic consistency established in the earlier titles. With the game launching on both current-gen consoles and PC, it remains to be seen how the roguelike mechanics will distinguish this entry from the action-RPG focus of its predecessors.
