Mizuki Hoshino, the creator behind the ongoing romance series Fukakōryoku no I Love You, announced on Friday that the manga will be entering an indefinite hiatus. The decision comes as a result of the author's current health struggles, with Hoshino noting that a return date for the series will be shared once they are ready to resume work.

Serialized in Shueisha's Margaret magazine since August 2023, the story follows Sena Kodama, a high school freshman attempting to navigate her complicated feelings for her senior, Wataya. Despite her best efforts to move on, Sena frequently finds herself drawn into unexpected situations with him, including a recent "try-out date" that serves as a central plot point in the series.

Shueisha has been active in publishing the title, with the ninth compiled volume hitting shelves on June 25. Before this project, Hoshino completed the four-volume series Tiger & Dragon, which saw an English-language release through Seven Seas. While the hiatus leaves the immediate future of Sena and Wataya's relationship uncertain, readers will have to wait for further updates from Hoshino's official channels regarding the series' eventual return.
