From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman season 2 has set its premiere date for July 8, with NBC Universal releasing a third promotional video that previews the opening theme song.

The new video showcases "Kurenai no Ha" (Crimson Leaf) by the rock band Unicorn, also announcing the July debut for the anime's second season. The series will air in TV Asahi's "IMAnimation W" block, with subsequent broadcasts on AT-X and BS Asahi. Amazon's Prime Video will handle worldwide streaming for the new season.

The returning animation studios Passione and Hayabusa Film, led by director Akio Kazumi, are back for the continuation. Key staff members like script supervisor Kunihiko Okada, character designer Satsuki Hayasaka, and music composer Yasuharu Takanashi are also reprising their roles. A large cast, including Hiroaki Hirata as Beryl Gardinant and Nao Tōyama as Allucia Citrus, is returning to voice the characters.

The original light novel series by Shigeru Sagazaki follows Beryl Gardinant, a seemingly ordinary rural sword instructor whose past aspirations of mastery are reignited when former students, now elite knights and mages, seek his tutelage. The franchise also includes manga adaptations and spinoffs.
