The upcoming second season of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman has expanded its cast with four new additions. NBCUniversal Japan unveiled Takashi Kondō as Hanoy Cressa, Hiromu Mineta as Kuriu Rybark, Mami Uchida as Prim, and Hiroshi Yanaka as Morris Pasyushka. A special action video was also released, offering a glimpse at the new season.

The anime is set to premiere on July 8 within TV Asahi's IMAnimation W programming block, with subsequent broadcasts on AT-X and BS Asahi. International viewers can catch the series starting July 9 via exclusive worldwide streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The series continues to be produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film, with Akio Kazumi returning as director and Yasuharu Takanashi back to compose the music.

Returning cast members include Hiroaki Hirata as Beryl Gardinant and Nao Tōyama as Allucia Citrus. The opening theme, "Kurenai no Ha" (Crimson Leaf), will be performed by rock band Unicorn, while BLUE ENCOUNT provides the ending theme, "Mikansei" (Unfinished).

The original light novel series by Shigeru Sagazaki follows Beryl Gardinant, a seemingly ordinary rural sword instructor whose life is upended when former students, now elite knights and mages, seek his tutelage.
