Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has joined forces with the 'Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Masterpieces of the 17th Century' exhibition for a unique collaboration. A newly revealed illustration reimagines the fantasy series' titular elf mage, Frieren, as Johannes Vermeer's iconic painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'.
Series creator Kanehito Yamada expressed his honor at the crossover, stating his anticipation for the exhibition where visitors can see Vermeer's masterpiece up close. Illustrator Tsukasa Abe also shared his thoughts, calling the experience of studying Vermeer's works and creating related art 'remarkable'.
The exhibition, scheduled to run from August 21 to September 27 at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka, will include crossover merchandise. While specific Frieren merchandise details have yet to be announced, the exhibition will also feature goods related to the Miffy franchise, including plush dolls of varying sizes.
