Retailers have confirmed that the 13th volume of Flung into a New World? Time to Lift the 200-Year Curse! (Isekai ni Otosareta... Jōka wa Kihon!) will serve as the finale for the series. The final installment is scheduled to hit shelves on October 15.
Written by Honobonoru500, the story follows Akira Tennou, a middle-aged janitor who finds himself thrust into a fantasy world after a fatal accident. Unlike typical hero-summoning tropes, Akira discovers his unique ability to purify the dark curses plaguing the local wildlife, turning his struggle for survival into a quest to save the creatures of the forest. The light novels, which feature illustrations by Yōsuke Ishibashi, have been published by TO Books since 2020.
Beyond the light novels, the franchise has maintained a steady presence through its manga adaptation, illustrated by Tai Nakashima. Originally serialized in Comic Corona in 2020 before migrating to the Corona EX website, the manga has reached six compiled volumes as of this past July. Both the novel and manga iterations are available to English-speaking readers via J-Novel Club.
