Following the release of the 13th and final volume of Firefly Wedding (Hotaru no Yomeiri) on Monday, creator Oreko Tachibana announced plans to launch a new manga series in Shogakukan's Manga ONE app this winter. The upcoming work is described as a story involving two powerful leaders—a prince from a country of men and a chief from a country of women—who are at odds and forbidden from falling in love. Tachibana previously concluded the main run of Firefly Wedding on February 2, subsequently releasing seven spinoff chapters between February and August. Viz Media, which publishes the Firefly Wedding manga in English, released the series' eighth volume on October 13. The franchise is currently expanding with an ongoing television anime that premiered October 9 on Fuji TV's Noitamina block and is available to stream on Crunchyroll. A live-action television adaptation is also scheduled for release in 2027.
