The production team for the upcoming Firefly Wedding anime has released a new promotional video, offering a first listen to the series' opening theme song, "Period," performed by Iri. This track marks the artist's debut contribution to an anime soundtrack. The song is scheduled for a full release on November 18.
Set to premiere on October 9, the series will occupy the prestigious Noitamina programming block on Fuji TV, airing Friday nights at 11:30 p.m. International viewers can follow the story of Satoko and her mysterious assassin-turned-fiancé Shinpei via Crunchyroll, which has confirmed it will stream the series as it airs in Japan.
The project is helmed by director Takahiro Kamei, known for his work on the recent Urusei Yatsura revival, with production handled by david production. The series composition is managed by Yūko Kakihara, and character designs are provided by Yukiko Aikei. The ending theme, "Yumegokochi," will be performed by TOOBOE.
Based on the manga by Oreko Tachibana, the series follows Satoko, a noblewoman with limited time to live who attempts to secure her future by proposing to the man sent to kill her.
