Square Enix has pulled back the curtain on Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the concluding chapter of the ambitious Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. During the gamescom Opening Night Live presentation, a new trailer highlighted the game's high-stakes combat, specifically showcasing the return of the formidable Weapons—Ruby, Emerald, and Ultima—that players will face in the final game.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi has previously emphasized that the core theme of this final installment is "resolve." The narrative will follow Cloud and his allies as they steel themselves for their ultimate confrontation, bringing the trilogy's multi-year arc to its definitive close.
Unlike the exclusive nature of the first entry in 2020, Final Fantasy VII Revelation is slated for a massive simultaneous rollout. When it arrives in spring 2027, the title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch 2. This broad availability follows the recent multi-platform expansion of the previous title, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which hit Xbox and Switch 2 earlier this year.
