This announcement follows the momentum of the series' first season, which aired in Winter 2026, and the 2023 special Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn. Both projects were helmed by A-1 Pictures, maintaining the high-octane urban fantasy aesthetic that has defined the franchise. With its complex mix of themes ranging from high-stakes gambling and magic to vampire lore and swordplay, the series has carved out a distinct niche within the broader Fate universe.
Originating from an April Fools' joke by author Ryohgo Narita, Fate/strange Fake has evolved into a sprawling multimedia property. The light novel series, illustrated by Shizuki Morii, has seen nine volumes published under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint as of March 2024.
