Fanfare/Ponent Mon has announced plans to bring several acclaimed manga titles back into print, including works by the late Jiro Taniguchi. The publisher will reissue Taniguchi's The Summit of the Gods, Quest for the Missing Girl, and The Ice Wanderer and Other Stories.
Leading the reprint wave is The Summit of the Gods, slated for a July 2026 English release. This edition coincides with the anniversary of Mount Everest's first recorded ascent. The manga, based on Baku Yumemakura's novel, was originally serialized in Japan from 2000 to 2003. It has previously received award nominations, including an Ignatz nomination for its first volume and an Eisner nomination for its fourth volume's English translation. A French animated film adaptation of the manga debuted in 2021.
Additionally, Fanfare/Ponent Mon will reprint Hideo Azuma's award-winning Disappearance Diary and Kiriko Nananan's Blue. Azuma's Disappearance Diary originally won the grand prize at the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Awards in 2006 and was previously published in English by Fanfare/Ponent Mon in 2010. Nananan's Blue also saw an earlier English release from the publisher in 2006. The other reprints are expected to debut later this year.
