The latest expansion of the Fairy Tail universe is coming to a close. According to the 43rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine, the miniseries Fairy Tail Re:Fantasia will publish its final chapter in the magazine's upcoming 44th issue, arriving on September 30.
This short-form project, which began its run in the magazine's 35th issue on July 29, serves as the latest addition to a franchise that has remained active long after the original manga concluded in 2017. Hiro Mashima continues to oversee the series, maintaining the momentum of the guild's adventures through various spin-offs and multimedia projects.
While the original series spawned an extensive catalog of anime adaptations and films, the franchise has recently pivoted toward newer entries like the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest sequel, which received its own television anime adaptation in July 2024. Beyond print and television, the brand has also expanded into the gaming space, most notably with the release of the Fairy Tail: Dungeons title for Nintendo Switch and PC earlier this year.
