Toei Animation and Studio51 Inc. have revealed Expelled from Paradise -The Stellar Angel-, a new visual novel set within the Expelled from Paradise franchise. The game is slated for a Winter 2026 release on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, offering both English and Japanese language options.
The visual novel serves as a direct sequel to the 2014 CG anime film, picking up the story of protagonists Angela and Dingo in the aftermath of the original movie's events. Toei Animation describes the game as a full-scale sci-fi narrative, promising an immersive experience through evocative text and direction.
This announcement comes alongside news of an animated film sequel, Rakuen Tsuihō -Expelled from Paradise- Kokoro no Resonance, which is set to premiere in Japan on November 13. The film reunites key staff from the original, including director Seiji Mizushima and scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi. The original Expelled from Paradise film, produced by Graphinica and Toei Animation, was a critical success, earning the Best Animation of the Year Award at the 24th Japan Movie Critics Awards and holding a 7.3 rating on MyAnimeList from over 47,000 voters.
