Viz Media has unveiled a cross-country signing tour featuring artist Acky Bright to commemorate the print debut of the GalaXic Baseball League comic series. The tour kicks off on October 13, coinciding with the release of the series' first volume. Ticketed events will be held at Kinokuniya bookstore locations, with attendees receiving an exclusive poster of the series.
The tour schedule begins in New York on October 13, followed by stops in Chicago on October 14, Seattle on October 16, and San Francisco on October 17. The final day of the tour, October 18, includes two sessions in the Los Angeles area, covering both the Little Tokyo and Santa Anita locations. The series, which originally launched on the Viz Manga app in July, blends sci-fi narrative with professional baseball, featuring illustrated versions of stars like Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Aaron Judge.
This project marks a unique intersection of sports licensing and manga-style artistry, with Bright citing the 2023 World Baseball Classic as a primary creative influence. Given the high-profile roster of MLB players involved, the series represents a significant push by Viz to integrate traditional sports fandom with comic-based storytelling. With the print volume arriving this month, it remains to be seen if this collaborative model will expand to include additional sports leagues represented by OneTeam Partners.
