The upcoming anime adaptation of Muchimaro's Holes in the Student Council (Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!) manga has revealed its lead voice actor and premiere window. Shogo Sakata has been cast as the protagonist, Mizunoe Ume. The series is slated to begin airing in October.
A character promotional video released Saturday showcased Sakata's role. The anime is being directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa at Studio Passione, with Ryo Imamura handling character designs. Masahiro Yokotani is overseeing the scripts for the series.
Holes in the Student Council follows Mizunoe Ume, who joins the student council hoping to improve his grades. However, he quickly discovers his fellow members are a collection of eccentric personalities, leading to chaotic but endearing slice-of-life situations. The manga, which launched in Kodansha's Weekly ShΕnen Magazine in 2022, has been praised for its quirky charm and won in the print category of the 2023 Next Manga Awards.
Seven Seas publishes the manga in English, with its first volume scheduled for release on September 8. K MANGA also offers the series digitally. Muchimaro's previous work, It's Just Not My Night: Tale of a Fallen Vampire Queen, was also released in English by Seven Seas.
