The production team for the upcoming television anime Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! has unveiled a new character spotlight for Satomi Hiratsuka. The reveal introduces veteran voice actress Yumi Uchiyama as the homeroom teacher for the series' first-year students, accompanied by a fresh character visual and a promotional video highlighting her role.
Uchiyama joins a cast that includes Shōgo Sakata as the beleaguered protagonist Mizunoe Ume, alongside Haruka Shiraishi, Miyu Tomita, and Hiyori Kōno. The project is currently in production at studio Passione, with Naoyuki Tatsuwa taking the helm as director. The series' scripts are being handled by Masahiro Yokotani, known for his work on Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- and Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!, while Ryo Imamura provides character designs.
Based on Muchimaro's popular four-panel manga, which began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2022, the series follows the chaotic and eccentric lives of a student council. The source material, which won the print category at the 2023 Next Manga Awards, is also available to English readers through Seven Seas and digital platforms like K MANGA. The anime is slated to debut this October.
